Meet Kim Starr, a dedicated member of our Off Leash MKE team. Kim has been a valuable part of our family since May 2021, bringing her unique experiences and unwavering passion for animals to our team. Let's get to know her better!
Kim's journey with animals started early in life. Despite pursuing a degree in geophysics during college, she found herself consistently drawn back to working with animals, her true passion. No matter how many other opportunities came her way, she always found herself gravitating back to her furry and scaly friends.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of Kim's job is hearing some clients affectionately refer to her as "Auntie Kim" to their furry companions. Kim shared that the joy of seeing a dog's happy dance when she arrives never fails to brighten her day, no matter the circumstances.
Beyond her work with animals, Kim has a fascinating set of hobbies and interests. During her college years, she had the privilege of going on various trips with school clubs to collect rocks and fossils. Some of her discoveries have even found a home at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum in Kenosha! In her spare time, she enjoys drawing and painting, unleashing her artistic side whenever she can.
Kim's love for animals extends to her own pets, which include cats, tortoises, hermit crabs, and fish. Her oldest cat, a venerable 18-year-old feline, has been her loyal companion since infancy. This furry friend shares her pillow every night and isn't shy about demanding attention or a meal with an affectionate slap.
When it comes to recommending pet-friendly spots in the area, Kim's top pick is Grant Park. She praises its diverse landscapes, from the North end to the South end, making it an ideal location for endless exploration. Dogs, and their human companions, are guaranteed to find new and exciting adventures every time they visit.
